This review is for Jira who did wedding hair and makeup for me for my December 2014 wedding in San Francisco. I had booked Jira for a trial session and gave her pictures of what I had in mind. She listened to my concerns since I have oily skin and wanted my makeup to last all day but I also wanted it to look as natural as possible. I also have very fine black hair and I was concerned that I wouldn’t have enough volume for an updo. Two weeks before the wedding, I got my hair highlighted and trimmed by Jira and I am so glad I did. The wedding pictures for my hair came out so vibrant in color and it had so much more dimension and volume.
On the wedding day, I had decided to make some adjustments from what we had done in the trial and Jira went above and beyond my expectations. My skin had gotten lighter in color, and I have very pale skin, and I was concerned that the makeup might be too dark. With facials, my skin had cleared up significantly so I wanted Jira to put less layers of the airbrush makeup so that it didn’t feel too heavy. Not only did the color match exactly, but my skin looked radiant and I barely felt like I was wearing any makeup. She also made my sparse eyebrows look natural and full. She used individual eyelash extensions with different lengths and made them look very natural and flirty. At the end of the day my makeup and hair still looked amazing.
I would definitely recommend Jira for hair and makeup. She is very reliable and extremely quick to responding to any questions and provides some of the best prices in the area.

Jira is a makeup super-hira! (Superhero, for those who can’t “hear” the phonetic fun.)
Jira was my hair and makeup stylist for my wedding and her team also did the hair and makeup for my five bridesmaids. Everyone looked incredible and everyone’s hair and makeup lasted well through the entire wedding (a good 8 hours and beyond).
I purposely waited a while to write this review because I wanted to see all my wedding photos and my wedding video to do a true rating. Truly 5 stars – everyone (especially me!) looked radiant in all mediums. It doesn’t surprise me though because the way I found out about Wowpretty/Jira is THROUGH a video. (I was screening for videographers and I saw a Thomas Hughes video – review to come – and one bride’s makeup was just natural, glowing and beautiful and I said, “I want that look!” and I saw her credits on the video’s website.)
I did a trial session with Jira and it was totally worth it. Some people think it’s pricey to do, but hey, would you buy a car without taking it for a test drive? It’s your wedding and you’ve got to make sure that the stylist makes you look your best and that you still feel like “you”, only more gorgeous on your wedding day!
This is how much I endorse Jira:
1) I entrusted her to cut my long hair for my pre-wedding haircut. Not only was it optimal for the updo I had chosen, but months later, it remained an all-around awesome haircut.
2) My Maid of Honor hired Jira to do her makeup for a special event (outside of my wedding events)and even hired her for makeup lessons.
3) I ONLY wanted Jira to do my hair and makeup. She has a very talented crew, but I wanted the best of the best!
My bridemaids and I looked amazingly beautiful on my wedding day, Jira and her team were on time and very professional and Jira was very responsive to any questions or style requests. Magnifique!

In 2002 Stacey Lee was my first model that I did Makeup for at a shoot in SF. Since then we had lost touch with each other. Until 2009 out of the blue Stacey contacted and told me that she was getting married.
I was shocked and so happy at the same time that this Beautiful model who is well-known contacted me to be her Makeup artist for her wedding day. She could find any other makeup artist instead of me and she thought of me. What an honor and priviledge. I believe all bay area makeup artists would die to be my place. Now whenever I see her wedding picture or video I’m so honored to be just a small part on her wedding day.

Gosh I’ve known Jira almost 8 years now. We first worked together on a photoshoot years ago. She really knows how to do Asian make-up.
Needless to say I had to have her do my wedding at the Julia Morgan Ballroom this past May. Jira uses an airbrush technique of foundation that lasted 12+ hours and through the my various tearing sessions throughout the day/night. Yay for her water proof mascara. Not only did it last all day but turned out flawless in photos. I just got my proofs back from my photographer Chung Photo. Her team was able to do hair/make-up for a bride, 6 bridesmaids, mom and cousin in 5 hours time. Right on schedule. She’s also does great cut/color and extensions too. The Works!!
Brides: if you have a certain style or look you’re looking to recreate, just tear out a picture and bring it to your trial session.

Jira Couture (JC) is a new cosmetic line that is being launched by Jira of WowPretty. Girls, if you’ve been married or know friends who have, then you have heard of Jira and her amazing team of experienced wedding hair stylist & make-up artists. She has been in the industry for over a decade & I’m excited about the launch of her new cosmetic line.
I recently switched over to the new mineralized loose powder & blush about two weeks ago and am loving the results. The loose powder is SPF15 & all items are FDA approved. The active ingredients are the same as those that are used in commercial branded cosmetics which are sold in your local department stores.
If JC was available on my wedding day, I would have bought the entire line so that I could have done small touch ups throughout the day. Not that I needed it, but it’s a good idea to always have it readily available. Plus, every girl wants look her best like she did on her wedding day right?
I can’t wait till the e-store goes live in about 1-2 months. I’m going to order a slew of the lip glosses. Hopefully ,they’ll be offered in a set. Be sure to take a sneak peak of the site as Jira is already fulfilling orders through direct email, friends, family, past and present clients. ~Stacey

Jira did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I was so unbelievably happy with her work. Jira is brilliant!
Not only was she one of the nicest people I have ever met, she did such an amazing job with my hair and makeup I felt I HAD to write her a review.
She is so talented and I was lucky to have her as my makeup artist. She made me feel beautiful on my wedding day.
