Jira, Angie, and Elena were fantastic to work with for our bridal party. Jira did my bridal makeup, while Angie/Elena did makeup/hair for 4 bridesmaids and my mom. From the beginning when I emailed back and forth with Jira, she was helpful, responsive, and accommodating. I did a trial with Jira, and she is easy and comfortable to talk to. Even though I came prepared with sample pictures of hair, I appreciated that she was honest about what she thought wouldn’t work for me. Still she tried it out to show me and after I saw that she was totally right, we moved on to trying other styles! I also appreciated that she actually let me change the final look at the end of the session because I was doing engagement photos that day. I was surprised that other vendors specifically called out having to pay separately for a trial makeup session vs. engagement photo makeup session.

On the day of, Jira and her team arrived at 6:45am (15 min earlier than expected!) . Angie and Elena were friendly, sweet, and efficient with the girls and my mother. My mother had been skeptical about having hair and makeup done, but it turned out great. Even with the short amount of time allotted (we planned on 30 min per person for hair and makeup), Elena really listened to what each girl wanted and then quickly transformed bed hair into sleek curls, loose waves coming out of a low bun, and glam braids. And when one of the bridesmaids was indecisive and still wanted to change her hairstyle because it didn’t look like the picture she brought, Elena continued to be calm and accommodating.

As for Jira, I truly am grateful for her mastery. After my engagement session, I told her that the eyeliner creeped, and that I wanted to opt for a different lip color. On the wedding day, she had a print out of all her notes from her our engagement session and edits for different products. I was just overall impressed how much heart and soul she put into me as a bride. I normally don’t wear any makeup, so it was a bit peculiar to look in the mirror and see the intense eye makeup she was applying. She assured me that it would look much less intense in photos. Again, she was absolutely right. She has an incredible talent of understanding color and contour and how light plays into it all.

Jira is opening her own salon this summer, and I am already a convert of her cosmetic products. She’s fun to just be around, so with her new salon, I’m glad I’ll be able to just pop in and chat with her in her new digs!
